And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Are you taking the time to have fun with other believers?
Though you may sometimes feel like you want or even need to be alone; whether you characterize yourself as a loner or just give in to the feeling, you also need to be around believers to fellowship with them. Not always in a church setting, but to have dinner, conversation and fun.
Ecclesiastes 2:24 Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God. (New King James Version)
Acts 20:11 When he had gone back up and had broken the bread and eaten, he talked with them a long while until daybreak, and then left. (New American Standard)
It is always great to hear about the lives and the testimonies of people who enjoy their walk with the Lord. It is encouraging and increases your faith. Christianity should not be a drudgery and you should not feel as if you’re missing out on something. Your fellowship with believers allows you to see that you are not missing out, but you are actually gaining! You can see how God moves in their lives and how He can move in your life. You can laugh and relax with believers. You can also pray for and with them. Live your life with those who love God as much as you or more. It will strengthen your walk with the Lord.
Please agree with me as I pray:
Father, I thank You for all the believers You have placed in my life. I pray with them and worship with them, but I’m also able to laugh with them. I know those who are close to me get to laugh every time they talk to me, when they listen to my thought process as I seek You and celebrate with me as I serve You. They help me laugh at my situations and theirs as well. Thank You for those believers I can watch a movie with and we can talk about it. Thank You for those believers who will take time away from their lives to share lunch or share dinner. Thank You for those believers who help me enjoy my life; the good times and the tough times, and help me see Your glory. I can not thank You enough for loving me so much you send others to walk with me…
