Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. (KJV)
Deuteronomy 10:17 For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: (KJV)
Do you know God is listening to you when you pray?
When there is altar call at church, are you willing for someone other than the pastor to pray for you? If the pastor is not available, and several other people are standing there to pray, do you have a preference? If so, why? Do you think one person’s prayer will get through, but someone else’s won’t. Do you think one elder has a greater connection to God than another? Have you heard the deacon pray the same prayer, so many times, you could recite it with him? The truth about God is: His ear is inclined toward you whenever you pray because of the condition of your heart.
Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the [uncompromisingly] righteous and His ears are open to their cry. (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)
It doesn’t matter if the pastor, elder, deacon, or someone who doesn’t have a title prays for you, or even if you pray for yourself. God is not a respecter of persons. The answer to your prayer is based on you.
Matthew 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” (New King James Version)
The Bible says God looks on the heart. He is able to see what is in your heart no matter who is praying for you or if you go to Him on your own. He is not looking for a loud prayer or a perfect prayer. God desires your prayer to come from an intense desire and unwavering faith to see His will manifested in your life.
Give God praise because He is Elohei Haelohim [ē-lō-hī hī-lō-him] (The God of gods).
Please agree with me as I pray:
Father, I can remember so many times when I wanted the pastor to pray for me. I had respect for the pastor because after all “the pastor,” is Your chosen one. The thought never occurred to me it wasn’t the person. You hear the cries of Your people. The degree or the intensity of the relationship with You is reflected in how a person lives. But You hear all of your children’s prayers. You want me to come to You because You are my God; You love me, and You want what’s best for me. I can’t have faith in someone else my faith must be in You. I remember when I was a child. Because I was the baby, my sisters would tell me to ask Dad or Mom for what they wanted. They thought I could get a “yes” when they would get a “no.” I can’t get someone else to ask for me because I think You will cater to them for some reason or I think You will respond to them and not me. There is no person who has better words to say; no matter how long they have been walking with You or how You have used them. You are the same God for them as You are for me. If I am humble and sincere in the request, I make to You; You hear me. According to Your will, You’ll answer…
