Psalms 14:1
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Are your actions, thoughts and words denying God’s existence?

This is tough training. See, you don’t actually have to say “There is no God” you can live like you believe there is no God. How? Glad you asked.

  • When you live like “it is all about you.”
  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
  • When you are motivated and driven by what you want and how you will get it.
  • Romans 2:6-8 He will render to each one according to his works: 7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; 8 but for those who are self-seeking[a] and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.
  • When you don’t stop to take anyone’s feelings into consideration.
  • Mark 12:31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
  • When you view other people only as a means to get what you want.
  • Proverbs 23:6-7 Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies, 7 for he is like one who is inwardly calculating. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
  • When you are manipulative, scheming and plotting, most of the time.
  • Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
  • When you have a negative outlook towards life, in general.
  • Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
  • When you never think of sacrificing anything for anybody or in case you do you expect a lot in return.
  • Matthew 6:1-4 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
  • When you are more concerned with pleasing yourself and trying to fulfill “your” dreams.
  • Romans 15:1-2 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

Whether you do one of these things, a combination of them, or you do something that is not on the list; if you are your focus, there is no room for God. You don’t have to say, “There is no God” because He can’t be found in the things you talk about, the things you do nor the thoughts and intents of your heart. He can’t be found there because He would interfere with “your” plans. Before you realize it, you have been pulled away by your own desires and enticed. You have become corrupt. As Paul encourages, examine yourself everyday. Then say as the Psalmist” O God, I ask You to search my heart. Examine me through and through. Find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my selfish desires and anxious cares. Expose any path I’m walking on that is leading me away from You and Your plan for my life. Then align my priorities and bring me back to You.

Please agree with me as I pray:

Father, I repent for every time I have, in my actions, in my attitude and/or in my conversation said, “There is no God”. I repent and I ask You to forgive me. Please continue to cause me to focus on the fact that You Are God and not my personal assistant and butler. Even when things are not going the way that I want them to go, remind me, in whatever way that You deem necessary, You are in control. You are the same God today, yesterday, and forever more. Help me to act like I know You don’t stop being God because I have a situation, a problem, or an issue. Continue to remind me that my life is not my own and it is not about me, not now and not ever. It is about the vision that You have for the world that Jesus died for and how You will use me to do my part to bring it to pass.  Whatever I am going through, You can get the glory from; if I allow You to. It is the tool You have chosen to use to transform me into the image your saw before the foundation of the world…
