Ephesians 2:2
You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil–the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. (New Living Translation)

Do remember who you used to be?

Are there times when you forget who you were before salvation? The enemy will use the reality that your sins have been cast into the sea of forgetfulness, against you. If you are not careful, you will convince yourself you have always been saved. You won’t have grace for those who are doing things you have forgotten you used to do. Then, you will begin to evaluate the actions of others, continually finding fault. As you observe friends, children, coworkers, etc. make sure you don’t give in to judgment. You don’t remember your past to be tormented by it. You remember your past to give God glory for who you are now; and more importantly, to be able to understand and speak life to someone who is where you used to be. Your transformation provides the foundation for the hope of your future. You have no testimony without tests. Remember what God did for you, He can and will do for others.

Please agree with me as I pray:

Dear Father God, I admit to being judgmental of the flaws and the stumbles in the lives of those around me, and I repent right now. I am grateful for Your saving power. I am thankful for Your ability to deliver. I stand as a testimony to the miracle work You have done and continue to do in me, as I submit myself to You. Help me to tell my story, so someone else can experience the transformation and joy You provide. I believe that is Your desire, please use me…

I enjoyed today’s devotional greatly. It was a true eye opener to everyone, as the word prict and convicted our hesrts, minds and soul. We can forget sometimes from where God has brought us from and carried us to. Now, we will never forget the times when we didn’t have a place to stay, food to eat and the proper shoes to wear. When we see someone in sin and not acting according to God’s will, we can then remember that was us without Christ in our lives. We can then remember that person is someone’s son or daughter, better yet, they are God’s child too and Christ still loved us no matter what.
