Ephesians 6:14a
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,

Is your integrity obvious?

“I’m telling the truth; I cross my heart and hope to die”. Did you say that when you were a child? Isn’t it great you don’t have to do that as an adult? You don’t have to convince a person you are not lying. It is because you have walked so that your integrity is evident.

Matthew 7:20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. (New Living Translation NLT)

  • You speak the truth even when it might appear to be more beneficial not to.
1 Peter 3:10 It is written in the psalms, If you love life and want to live a good, long time, Then be careful what you say. Don’t tell lies or spread gossip or talk about improper things. (The Voice TVT)
  • You serve God rather than men.
Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than men [we have no other choice]”. (Amplified Bible, AMP)
  • You keep our word.
James 5:12 Above all we must be those who never need to verify our speech as truthful by swearing by the heavens or the earth or any other oath. But instead we must be so full of integrity that our “Yes” or “No” is convincing enough and we do not stumble into hypocrisy. (The Passion Translation TPT)
  • You love those around you in both word and deed.
1 John 3:17-18 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. (New King James Version NKJV)
  • You believe in God and therefore to follow Him in all our ways.
Psalm 37:23-24The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path]. (Amplified Bible, AMP)
  • Your life lines up with your belief and trust in God that His ways are best
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. (Amplified Bible, AMP)

This is what your armor says about you. It is your integrity. You don’t take it off and put it on. It is continuously a part of you.

Please agree with me as I pray:

Father, I thank You for requiring me to live a life founded on Your word. I repent for those times I chose to go my way. You are the Truth. I have to live a life where the truth makes me, and those I come in contact with, free. I thank You because I must represent You at all times, even when doing what the world dictates would be an easy way out. I know there are no white lies, black lies, blue lies etc. Lies don’t have a color making them OK to tell, they are just lies. There is no behavior that is Ok just this one time. Either it lines up with Your word or it does not. I thank You that the Holy Spirit is there to bring conviction even in my thought process, before a lie comes out of my mouth or I make the wrong decision. There is no way for me to convince myself anything other than what glorifies You would be better. Thank You for helping me live a life free of lies, bad choices, and poor excuses. I live a life that gives You glory…
