Ephesians 2:22
In him you are co-constructed together as God’s permanent spiritual residence. You are God’s address! (Mirror Bible)

Are you God’s address?

One of the major ways you validate residency is with your address. You can’t get a driver’s license, social security card, passport or any other legal document until you can prove where you live. It is not enough to say you live there; you have to show official mail with your name and address on it. There has to be evidence of your residence.

Sometimes you see a house and you wonder does anyone live there. You wonder because someone boarded the house up; windows are cracked, shutters broken, etc. You may even see a house that has a well-kept yard, an immaculate paint job, maybe it was just built or fully renovated and still you can wonder if anyone lives there.

1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? (Amplified Bible, AMP)

What kind of house do you have? Would a person wonder if God is living there?
Romans 1:29-31Their sinful lives became full of every kind of evil, wicked schemes, greed, and cruelty. Their hearts overflowed with jealous cravings, and with conflict and strife, which drove them into hateful arguments and murder. They are deceitful liars full of hostility. They are gossips 30 who love to spread malicious slander. With inflated egos they hurl hateful insults at God, yet they are nothing more than arrogant boasters. They are rebels against their parents and totally immoral. 31 They are senseless, faithless, ruthless, heartless, and completely merciless. (The Passion Translation TPT)

Is a person able to see that God is living there?
2 Peter 1:5-8 For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence), 6 And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control, and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety), 7 And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love. 8 For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you, they will keep [you] from being idle or unfruitful unto the [full personal] knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition AMPC)

Or is it one that looks like God is there but really isn’t?
Matthew 23:27-28 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. (New King James Version NKJV)

When you give instead of taking, forgive instead of holding a grudge, bless instead of curse, love instead of hate; your lifestyle is evidence of God’s habitation.

Please agree with me as I pray:

Father, You have made me Your habitation. You live in me. I became Your residence when I accepted Your invitation to salvation. My lifestyle, my desire and my heart are to please You. I repent for those days I fall short. If I’m the only Bible someone will ever read, I want the text to be accurate. I want people to come to me and find You. It is not enough for me to say I’m a Christian. It is not enough for me to carry a Bible and have Scriptures on my wall or my desk at work. Banners, pins, and stickers mean nothing if my life does not line up. The words have to ring true in my thoughts, my speech and my actions. I have to be believable for those who don’t know You. My life has to say, “God lives in me” …

Powerful devotion on today and needs to be shared with others. We are either going to love God and live with a pure heart and clean hands so that others can read our lives effortlessly and without doubt or we are not. Lord, thank You for affording me the opportunity of being a residency for you.
