Galatians 4:7
Can you see how foolish it would be for a son to continue to live his life with a slave mentality? Your son-ship qualifies you to immediately participate in all the wealth of God’s inheritance which is yours because of Christ. (Mirror Bible)
Are you having a prodigal son moment?
Have you made some choices and found yourself in a place where you are not living the quality and standard of life God promised? That must have been what the prodigal son was thinking when he “came to himself.” He was not wondering how he could get his lavish life back. He just wanted to be in a place where he could get food, shelter, safety, and security. These were the things he knew his Father provided for his slaves. He was OK to be a slave. The thing is, there was no reason for him to live as a slave. He did not realize the relationship he had with his father did not end because he left. It was still intact. He was still his father’s son. It did not matter where he was or how he was currently living. When he returned home, his father proved that to him (Luke 15:11–32).
Luke 15:20 “So the young son set off for home. From a long distance away, his father saw him coming, dressed as a beggar, and great compassion swelled up in his heart for his son who was returning home. The father raced out to meet him, swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love. (The Passion Translation, TPT)
Are you living beneath your status because of choices you have made? Are you content to keep living without your blessings because you have agreed with the enemy? You can change your situation.
Isaiah 55:1-3Wait and listen, everyone who is thirsty! Come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come, buy [priceless, spiritual] wine and milk without money and without price [simply for the self-surrender that accepts the blessing]. 2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness [the profuseness of spiritual joy]. 3 Incline your ear [submit and consent to the divine will] and come to Me; hear, and your soul will revive; and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with you, even the sure mercy (kindness, goodwill, and compassion) promised to David.(Amplified Bible, Classic Edition, AMPC)
It is not a matter of what you deserve; it is a matter of who you are. You are an heir to the throne. It is your birthright. Being an “heir” is NOT a better job, a wife, a husband, a better car etc. IT IS your relationship with the Father.
Romans 8:17 If we are God’s children, that means we are His heirs along with the Anointed, set to inherit everything that is His. If we share His sufferings, we know that we will ultimately share in His glory. (The Voice, TVT)
Stop living beneath your promises and return to the Lord.
Please agree with me as I pray:
Father, when I am feeling as if I am not living the life you promised, I know I am the one who left. When I am thirsty, I come to You. You are my everlasting water. When I have no money, I can come to You, buy and eat without cost. I can stop spinning my wheels and doing things that cannot and will not satisfy me. I will listen to You and eat of Your word. I will delight in You. I will enter into Your presence and wait for You to speak to me. You can return to me the joy of Thy salvation. You have made an everlasting covenant with me. Help me be faithful to it…
