Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Are you weary?

When you are intent on success, training is, and should be, hard. If you are reward oriented, you are not so much concerned with the task as long as you know what prize or accolade you will get when you finish. As a Christian, you already know you will be with the Lord in glory. You also know, in this life, you will have victories, and you have the promise of blessings you won’t have room to hold. But what about until the blessings come? Until then, you have to wait.

Psalm 27:13-14 [What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living! 14 Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)

Time flies when you are having fun, right! When you feel you are ready to receive what you have been training for, and the blessing has not come yet; are you still having fun? What do you do? You must guard your heart, so you don’t get tired and want to give up. Do what David did:

1 Samuel 30:6b But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God. (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)

Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (KJV)

When you are feeling weary, remember it is because you have lost sight of God and you are functioning on your own. During this time, go into your secret place and praise Him for what He has done for you in the past; worship Him for Who He is, honor Him for the opportunity to serve. As you spend time in His presence, God will energize, inspire, and encourage you. Don’t stop praising, don’t stop worshiping, and most of all, don’t stop serving!

Please agree with me as I pray:

Father, I have not always been willing to wait. I give you praise because You have strengthened me through my tears. Now I know You were preparing me. I didn’t know what I was going to encounter, but You did. You have taught me how to wait. Even now, I don’t know what I am going to have to deal with next, but You do. As I wait, I will continue to seek You, worship, pray, and study. I know you are everywhere at the same time so You are already with me when the next appointed time comes. I am prepared because of You. The enemy cannot blindside me. He will not get the victory because You trained me, matured me, and equipped me in my time of waiting. Father, I believe I can mount up on wings like an eagle. Thank You for empowering me to run and not get weary. I give You glory…
