Psalms 95:6
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker
Have you ever invited someone to worship with you?
There are times when you invite people to your church. There are times when you invite people to a Bible study, a worship service, a conference, or to hear a speaker. You want them to experience God with you. It could be you had a wonderful time previously and you want your guest to have the same experience. Have you ever invited someone to worship with you? Have you ever asked someone to your home, or did you go to their home just to talk about the amazing God you serve? Not to discuss your problems or to vent about some drama filled encounter; just to say our God is mighty; our God is awesome.
Psalm 99:5 Exalt the Lord our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He. (Amplified Bible AMP)
Your sole purpose for coming together is to prostrate yourselves before God as you meditate on who He is.
Psalm 96:9 Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; Tremble [in submissive wonder] before Him, all the earth. (Amplified Bible AMP)
What a wonderful experience that would be. Practicing what you will do in heaven.
Revelation 4:10-11The twenty-four elders fell prostrate before the One seated on the throne, worshiped the One who lives throughout all the ages, cast their golden wreaths before the throne, and chanted to Him. (The Voice TVT)
Revelation 7:11-12 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the [twenty-four] elders and the four living creatures; and they fell to their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and majesty and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might belong to our God forever and ever. Amen.” (Amplified Bible AMP)
As you share your understanding of who God is and your friend shares his or her understanding of who God is, both of you encourage each other and each of you get a greater understanding of who God is.
Ephesians 3:18-19 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; 19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition AMPC)
As you speak about His goodness of the God you both serve, His presence fills the room and compels you to worship.
1 Chronicles 16:29 Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. (New Living Translation NLT)
Please agree with me as I pray:
Father, before You wrote this day of the devotional, it never occurred to me to invite someone to worship with me. I repent because I think it should have. If I don’t need to repent, then I am sorry because I invite people to do so many other things. I have invited people to church, to Bible study, even to prayer. I had never invited someone to worship with me. Because of this day, I asked someone to spend time with me talking about You, magnifying You, and exalting You. I told them, “Come and worship with me. I want us to bow before the Father, love on Him and give Him what He is due”. I was excited just thinking about it. I was anticipating Your presence resting on us. I had the experience, and it was more amazing than I could have ever imagined. Thank You for placing the desire in my heart. Thank You for putting everything in place. You were setting me up to be blessed, and You blessed us, exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ask or think. Thank You and I can’t wait for the next time…
