Psalms 5:7
But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

Do you have reverential awe?

There are people who you feel are prominent, powerful, famous, etc. These people are not accessible to everyone. However, they can affect your life either directly or indirectly because of the positions they hold. They design legislature, regulate finance, etc. In most cases, you can’t even talk to them. If you get the chance to, you feel honored and privileged. Know this: you serve the Almighty God.

Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End],” says the Lord God, “Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all].” (Amplified Bible AMP)

He created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). He breathed and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Do you have the same feeling of privilege and honor for Him when you talk with Him? Do you take into consideration Who He is?

1 Timothy 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (New King James Version NKJV)

Do you understand His deity and reflect on your humanity? Your relationship with The Almighty even confused David, who was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22).

Psalm 8:4 I can’t help but wonder why You care about mortals — sons and daughters of men—specks of dust floating about the cosmos. (The Voice TVT)

Do you take Him for granted?

John 12:5 How could she pour out this vast amount of fine oil? Why didn’t she sell it? It is worth nearly a year’s wages; the money could have been given to the poor. (The Voice TVT)

Do you treat Him like He owes you something?

Luke 17:9-10 And after your servant has done everything you told him to do, are you going to make a big deal about it and thank him? [I don’t think so!] 10 Now apply this situation to yourselves. When you’ve done everything I’m telling you to do, just say, “We’re servants, unworthy of extra consideration or thanks; we’re just doing our duty.” (The Voice TVT)

Keep in mind even though He is God, He allows you to come boldly to His throne and talk to Him directly and immediately.

Hebrews 4:16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]. (Amplified Bible AMP)

You don’t have to speak to His assistant first; Jesus’ death tore the veil.

Ephesians 2:18 For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition AMPC)

You don’t have to make an appointment that is three months out; you can talk to Him whenever you want.

Matthew 28:20 “Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.” (Amplified Bible AMP)

Though you may need to go through the access process and vetting steps may be necessary in the natural, they are not with God. Please keep in mind that He is the same God who opened up the earth and Korah and family were no more (Numbers 16:32). Not that you should have a scary fear of God, just make sure you give God the esteem He is due.

Leviticus 9:23-24 Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord [the Shekinah cloud] appeared to all the people [as promised]. 24 Then fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell face downward [in awe and worship]. (Amplified Bible AMP)

Please agree with me as I pray:

Father, first, I bow in Your Holy Presence. I repent right now for every time I took for granted this amazing privilege You have given me. I repent for acting like You owe me something. I have not forgotten that You Are God. Not a god, You are The God. Yet; You have given me the freedom to come boldly to Your throne. You are available to me whenever I need You. I will not act cavalier about it nor expect You to always do what I want when I want. I will not be the one who acts entitled, causing me to accept Your blessings without thanks or recognition. I will speak of Your goodness and testify to the value You bring to me. I will not treat You like we are equals and You are common. I will always approach You with reverential awe. You are there because You choose to be, not because You have to be. Not because of anything I have done or might do. I’m humbled by Your presence. I’m overwhelmed by Your love. I’m grateful You allow me to spend time with You…
