He was the father of faith. But look at Isaac for just a moment. Here is a 90+ year old man tying a young man to the altar. Isaac wasn’t so young he did not understand what was going on. He was also not too young to stop Abraham or at least wrestle with him if he wanted to. Isaac allowed Abraham to tie him on the altar and did not move. Faith was not transferred to Isaac in his DNA, but I am sure he saw the faith of his father, day in and day out. Now it was his turn, isn’t it a great thing when, though you have in your lineage powerful men and women in the Lord, you find your own place in God. What a blessing to move from the “God of my father/mother etc.” to “my Lord and My God”. What do you have to go through in order to experience that transition? Are you willing? And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.” 12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” 13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

2 Timothy 1:5 I rejoice in the pure faith that I see in you.
