But as Jesus hung on the cross knowing this was the reason He came to earth, He cried out for His Father.

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (KJV)

As you fight this spiritual war, there will be days when you feel alone and days when you feel like you have lost. Just remember, because of salvation, the same Spirit that flowed in Jesus and raised Him from the dead, now lives in you. You can say, “Daddy, save me!” But like Jesus, your request should be out of human emotion and not the desire to forsake your purpose. The enemy wants you to come down from your cross. You can only stay there if you have the same understanding of your purpose and unwavering commitment to fulfill it, that Jesus did.

Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (KJV)

How do you get to that place with the Father? Spend dedicated and purposed time in His presence, in study, in prayer and in worship. Don’t fit Him in on the run, sacrifice to spend time with Him. Always remember, it is not about what you feel, it is about what God has purposed you to do.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].
