Matthew 24:46 <\/span><\/strong>
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you working as if Jesus is coming today?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever had the responsibility of doing something and you thought you had a lot of time? Did you get right on it or did you lose track of time? Were you ready when the assignment was due or were you scrambling? Do you tell yourself and others you work better under pressure? Wouldn\u2019t it be a blessing if you are not scrambling when Jesus returns? Are there choices you make because you think you\u2019ll have time to get it right; you know God will forgive you; you can make a better choice the next time, etc. The truth is, you don\u2019t know when Jesus is returning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (KJV)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you give it some thought, is that how you want to handle the assignment God has given you? Isn\u2019t what you really want is, whenever He returns, He finds you being the servant He called you to be; doing the work He created you to do. You don\u2019t want to be found waiting for another opportunity, or busy doing something that doesn\u2019t give God glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 9:4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. (New King James Version)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

God does not run on our system of day and night, nor of time on a 24-hour or work hours clock. As long as Jesus has not returned, it is day and you should be at work.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please agree with me as I pray:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Father, I thank You for calling me to a place where I understand my need to be diligent in the work You have assigned to me. Because of Your grace and mercy, I got another chance and I no longer live as if I control time. Your word says I do not know what will happen tomorrow. Which means I will not put off for tomorrow what You have purposed for me to do today. Thank You for holding me accountable and not letting me get away with the excuses I have made in the past. I ask You to forgive me again, even as I think about the explanations I made to myself and others. Father, I want to do the work You assigned to me on Your agenda. I am Your servant and I want to be found faithful. I thank You for the call to serve You and the ability You gave me to work efficiently and effectively. Father, please continue to get my attention when I am busy doing other things; keep me from being distracted by what I want; and help me stay on task until Jesus\u2019 return.
