(Amplified Bible, Classic Edition AMPC)

The worst thing you can do is allow someone else, who doesn’t know who they are and did not create you; give you instruction on how to be you. There is a book called The Richest Man in Babylon. It is about a man named Arkad. Arkad learned to go to the subject-matter expert when he needed something done. It was a great lesson learned for him because he got rich. Not only was he rich, he was the richest man in Babylon. You can use that same lesson and apply it to your life.

Who is the subject-matter expert on you? Where do you go to get the information you need to be effective in your life? You go to The Creator. You go to The One who shaped and formed you.

Psalm 139:13-16 Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God, your works are wonderful! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you. The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day. (The Message MSG, edited)

God knew what He called you into being to do. He also knew what you needed to complete the task. He began the work in you before the foundation of the world. There’s no need to vacillate. He will complete the work He started.

Philippians 1:6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.
