1 Corinthians 6:11
What you once were in terms of your lifestyle has radically changed! You have been cleansed, restored to total harmony (holiness) and made righteous. The name of the Lord Jesus declares your salvation; the Spirit of our God realizes salvation in you! (Mirror Bible)
Are you pulling out your big guns?
When the enemy comes in to show you your past, you can own it. You can also tell him, “That’s who I used to be.”
Ephesians 2:3-5 Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God’s] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. 4 But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great and wonderful love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—you have been saved from God’s judgment). (Amplified Bible)
You can rejoice in the fact you have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb. You have been cleansed and made right with God by His Spirit. You forgive those who wrong you and by doing so you are also forgiven. These are your big guns. They are always there for you to use. There is nothing the devil can say. There is no power he has that supersedes these truths.
Please agree with me as I pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for saving me. I am changed. Thank you for cleaning up my heart. I can forgive and be forgiven. The enemy cannot torment me with my past. Those things I used to do; I don’t do any more. Those thoughts I used to think, I don’t think any more. Those words I used to say; I don’t say any more. I can stand boldly and say to the enemy, “My past is over!” I look forward to a new place in You every day…
