Proverbs 16:3
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Are you discouraged and disappointed?

If you’ve ever dealt with a teenager or a young adult, you know they feel like they have all the answers. They want you to support their choices and decisions whether you believe they are good ones or not. They even want you to turn their bad choice into something usable when they discover it was a bad choice. If you are unwilling to accommodate them, they feel discouraged and disappointed. You don’t want to take the same position with the Father. It does not matter what your plans may be. The warfare you are in requires you to submit your life to the Father. Do you quote Proverbs 3:5-7 on a regular basis?

Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. (New King James Version)

Do you actually acknowledge God in all your ways? Are there things you run headlong into without pause and then expect God to give you “your” expected end? Do you get discouraged when things don’t turn out the way you planned? Though it may have seemed like a good idea at the time, quite possibly it was not a “God” idea. You want to submit yourself, your thoughts and your ideas to the Father. Here is the better thing: you also want Him to say no when it is not what He wants for your life. Most importantly, you want to be excited when He says no, not disappointed or discouraged. You have no idea what He saved you from or what better plans He has for you.

Please agree with me as I pray:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I recognize I am in a war. I understand, though You have already gotten the victory, I have to walk out the path You have set for my life. You have made it possible for me to be an overcomer because of Your authority and power. I am saved. All I have to do is allow You to show me Your plan for my life and accept it. Father, I know I shouldn’t create plans on my own and expect You to bless them.  I recognize my destiny rests in You. You have all knowledge. You have already worked out the plan for my life. I must come to You.  I must seek You.  I have to wait on and rest in You. If I am willing to live my life Your way, then I can become the person you created me to be and  walk in joy like never before. Father, I am willing, and I submit to You…
