Get rid of all obstacles that could possibly cause you to stumble and sprain an ankle! Don’t let a recurrent injury force you out of the race. Recover and carry on running. Don’t allow old legalistic mind-sets to trip you up again. (Mirror Bible)
Is your path obstruction free?
God has a plan for your life and a path for you to walk. You have the responsibility to make sure the path you are walking on is what God desires.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Amplified Bible, AMP)
Also, God has designed your path to be as plain and as easy to follow as possible. That is the way God does it. No hoops to jump through.
Matthew 11:29-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (The Message, MSG)
Also, keep in mind other people are watching you and trying to walk the path you are walking. You cannot allow obstructions to cause you or anyone else to stumble.
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, (Amplified Bible, AMP)
What are obstructions: addictions, distractions, afflictions, distresses, etc. Get rid of whatever the Lord has shown you needs to go. Don’t make excuses for your wrong behavior or it will just get worse and cause you to fall. And the sadder part is, it could most probably cause someone else to fall as well.
Romans 13:14 But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires (lusts). (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition, AMPC)
You can walk the path of deliverance Jesus died for and God provided because you are strong, healed, and more than a conqueror.
Please agree with me as I pray:
Father, You have shown me the path and instructed me to walk there in. It is my responsibility to obey. I repent for the times I walked my own way. Thank You for always being there for me. When I am weak, You make me strong. When I struggle, You give me clarity. I had not thought about someone else watching my life and trying to walk my path before. I am both baffled and concerned. Knowing that someone would want to walk my path makes me even more sensitive to every time I do what I want without regard for Your word. Not only am I putting bumps, lumps, cracks, and crevices on my path. I could cause someone else to fall. I can’t use the fact that the righteous man falls, and You will help them rise again as an excuse to make provision for my flesh. I must live my life doing everything I can, according to Your will, so I don’t fall. Thank You for showing this to me in a clearer way. Thank You for showing me why I should desire Your path for my life. Thank You for making me realize I must choose Your path freely, not grudgingly, or being compelled, or demanded. Help me continue to keep my path clear of obstacles so it is straight and level…
