Revelations 1:18
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Are you living a defeated life?
Is it possible to know Christ, believe in your heart that you are saved, but also be a long way from living as God intended? Is it enough to know that you are free from sin and death? Here are a few questions to ask yourself:
- Do you believe bad luck is the reason terrible things happen to you?
Psalm 37:23-25 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. 25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (KJV)
- Do you get angry and blame others over things you can’t control?
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. (AMP)
- Is your perspective on things generally negative?
Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (NKJV)
- Are you still looking for God’s blessings on your life?
Psalm 103: 1- 6 O my soul, come, praise the Eternal with all that is in me—body, emotions, mind, and will—every part of who I am— praise His holy name. 2 O my soul, come, praise the Eternal; sing a song from a grateful heart; sing and never forget all the good He has done. 3 Despite all your many offenses, He forgives and releases you. More than any doctor, He heals your diseases. 4 He reaches deep into the pit to deliver you from death. He crowns you with unfailing love and compassion like a king.
5 When your soul is famished and withering, He fills you with good and beautiful things, satisfying you as long as you live. He makes you strong like an eagle, restoring your youth. 6 When people are crushed, wronged, enslaved, raped, murdered, the Eternal is just; He makes the wrongs right. (Voice)
Though you are in this warfare, you have to understand the victory is already yours. The Lord God has defeated the principalities and powers that come against you on a daily basis. You have to stand on this truth because the enemy wants you to believe he is victorious. If you don’t understand God already has the victory, you will find yourself struggling and being overwhelmed by life. Your words will betray your heart and speak of a God who is not omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and sovereign. You have to know the battle has already been won.
Please agree with me as I pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for reminding me You already have the victory. As I go through each day, help me to remember I am victorious through You. Help me not to be moved by what I see no matter how terrible and no matter how devastating. Help me hide who You are in my heart so I speak the right words about you. There is no being or force in existence anywhere that can compare in power to You. All wisdom and knowledge belong to You. You are present in every corner of the world, in heaven, in the earth, and in every inch of everything that has ever been created. You are not limited by time nor space. Help me to see You at work in every situation, so I will trust You more…
